We went to bear world and Maya and Nikola got to hold the baby bears. So cute!Eva is 7 months old. staring to crawl, she does that "army crawl" on her elbows.
This was winter sometime, Frankie came to visit. Man these girls adore him!

We went trick or treating and met up with our friends in the neighborhood and so we all knocked on doors together. Maya and Nikola are fairy princesses - of course.

Maya, Nikola, and Eva. 5 days old. Wow, we have three!
Her birth story:
I had contractions almost every day for about 3 weeks prior. There were periods of several hours that they were 5 minutes apart, but never very strong and I was just waiting for them to turn into something real. Finally on Thursday at 2am the real ones started. At 3am they were 3-5 minutes a part and getting stronger and I was glad the day was finally here. Matthew was up at about 5:30am and I told him today was the day and I'd wake him when I needed him.

That lasted about another hour and we called Lynne (Matthew's mom) to come over for Maya and Nikola. We were at the hospital close to 7am and I was dilated to a 5. I walked and stood and Matthew talked me through each contraction and rubbed my back or let me lean on him if we were standing.

About 9am I was ready to stay in bed and had to really focus now to manage each contraction. A labor nurse sat with me for 45 minutes and talked me through each contraction - she really knew what she was doing, what an angel she was!

Finally my body was ready to push at about 10:35am and it forced me to do so - so weird, I never felt that before because I had epidurals with the others. Matthew was so embarrassed (and so was I really) because each time I pushed it also forced me to yell at the top of my lungs. Seriously, I was so loud. During my second push the NICU nurses came in and my doctor was like, "close the door!, close the door!" so embarrassing but I swear I could not control it! I was so calm before pushing but as soon as that one contraction hit my body took over.

They told me that it would take longer to push her out if I yelled like that. They explained that holding the air in helped push the baby more. I thought, ok ok, but then the next one hit and again - uncontrollable yelling. Oh well, I guess it didn't take too much longer to push her out because it only took 3 contractions.

with the third contraction her body was born all at once and I was so relieved. The doctor put her on my belly right away, and I wasn't expecting that. I know it's the "natural" way to do it, but I was like, ewww clean her off.

The NICU nurses were there because she had meconium (how do you spell that?). For those who don't know that's when they have a bowl movement before they are born. It can be bad because after they are born they can breathe it in and cause infections and stuff. So they sucked her all out really fast and she was fine.

What a wonderful little girl. Her name is Eva Mae Williams after Matthew's great-great-grandma. I watched her body pink up and we were so happy to see her. I kept saying, "That's her, that's Eva." And then they gave her to me again and I just kissed her head and looked at her face.

I wanted to see if she had a double crown like her sisters - nope. But she does have the dimple in her chin like all the rest of us. She has much less hair than Maya and Nikola did at birth. And she has light eyes. Her APGAR score was a 9 out of 10. And she had no problems with the meconium. Other than a borderline billirubin, she is very healthy.

She had her first doctor appointment yesterday (Monday) and the exam was very good. Her billirubin was normal now. And she had only lost 1 ounce which made me happy. My others always seemed to lose so much weight in the beginning. She is eating well and starting to sleep a little better.

We love her so much. Every time she wakes me up to eat, I think, "I'm so tired, I'm so tired" and then I unwrap her and see her and I think, "Oh, you are so wonderful, I love you!"

Now's the hard part - figuring out how to live life with 3 kids.

Daddy has an empty lot as one of his mowing jobs. He was using the weed eater in the tall grass and came across this little baby bunny. This bunny's sibling didn't survive the weed eater, poor thing, Matthew felt so bad for it. But it looks like we may have a new pet rabbit now. The girls love it.Nikola just laid in the bucket next to the rabbit, she wanted to be as close to it as possible. Maya was afraid of it and it took some coaxing to get her to pet the thing.My Nikola.

Boy does Maya love being outside, just look at the enjoyment on her face.

It's so warm outside! Time to get the baby pool out. They've been in it all week.In the mornings this is a pretty common sight.

Our first trip to the ER. Maya closed the front door on Nikola's hand. It cut off the tip of her little pinky finger, but the doctor was able to stitch it back on. That day, Frankie also came up to visit and here the two of them are, with Nikola's little bandage. Here's Nikola, falling asleep on Frankie. It's really easy since he doesn't move. ever.

We tried to teach her how to blow out her candles. Instead she grabbed the flame which snuffed it out. We cheered anyway because she did it all by herself. We gave her her own cupcake for her to eat. She broke it all apart, smashed it, made a complete mess, but did not eat any of it.

About Me

I am almost 10 months old. I like to dance to music, I turn when my name is called, walk holding onto furniture, and I crawl all over the house. My favorite things to do are going for walks with Mom, being pushed in the swing at the park, playing on the front lawn, and splashing in water especially in the bathtub. I follow Mom all over the house and pull myself up to stand by grabbing Mom's pants. I laugh and smile with Daddy when he tosses me, cuddles me, tickles me and kisses me.
